7-Phase Development Framework

Founded by Mel L. Davis & Edgar H. Bishop

Kappa League was founded on February 12, 1969 by Mel L. Davis and Edgar H. Bishop at Alain LeRoy Locke High School in Los Angeles, California. Organized under the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter, the program was originally called the Kappa Instructional Leadership League.

Initially designed for male students in grades 10 through 12, the program was formally adopted by the Grand Chapter in 1970. Over the years, its reach expanded to serve young men in grades 6 through 12, broadening its impact on youth across the country.

As a subset of the Guide Right program, Kappa League embodies the fraternity's commitment to mentoring and guiding the next generation toward achievement and service.
