Origin of the Province System
The province system originated in 1920 under the 3rd Grand Polemarch, George F. David, II. Districts became regions in 1923, then provinces in 1926. Today, the twelve provinces provide regional governance and coordination for hundreds of alumni and undergraduate chapters across the United States and internationally.
